Additional revenue per year
Assumes traffic and average order value hold. A CRO programme usually moves average order value too, which this deliberately does not count.
Get my free CRO auditWhy the conversion rate is the cheapest number to move
Every other lever costs money. More traffic means more ad spend, a higher average order value usually means discounting something else, and a better margin means renegotiating with a supplier. The conversion rate is the one number where the gain is free once the work is done: the same visitors, the same products, the same budget, and more of them buy.
That is also why the arithmetic looks so aggressive. A store doing €1M a year at 1.4% that reaches 2.1% is not 0.7 percentage points better, it is 50% bigger. The percentage-point gap reads as small and the revenue gap does not.
What this calculator will not tell you
It will not tell you whether the new rate is achievable on your store. That depends on your category, your price point, how much of your traffic is paid, and where the leaks actually are. A store at 0.6% usually has one broken thing and a fast fix; a store at 2.4% is fighting for a tenth of a point at a time.
It also assumes the extra conversions are as valuable as the current ones, which is not always the case: aggressive discounting lifts the rate and lowers the margin at the same time. Measure revenue per visitor alongside the rate, not instead of it.

What is a good ecommerce conversion rate?
–+
The average Shopify store converts at about 1.4%. Anything above 2% is a well-optimised store and above 3% is unusual outside of subscription or single-product brands. The number is heavily category-dependent, though: a €25 supplement and a €2,000 sofa cannot be compared, because considered purchases convert lower and are worth more per order.
How do I find my current conversion rate?
–+
In Shopify, Analytics shows it as 'conversion rate' on the overview, calculated as sessions that produced an order divided by all sessions. Use a 30-day window rather than a week, and check it separately for mobile and desktop — the gap between the two is usually where the fixable problem is.
How much can CRO realistically lift a conversion rate?
–+
It depends entirely on where you are starting. We do not promise a rate, because the honest answer is that a store with a broken mobile checkout has more to gain from one week of work than a well-built store gets in a year of testing. What we do is measure your rate before the work starts and again after it lands, so the difference is a fact rather than a claim.
